How to read Pdf or Other Files during Writing in Scrivener?

Hi everybody, with this tutorial you will learn how you can read pdf files or other kind of stuff such as Ms word files read during your writing process. The previous tutorial showed us how to divide the main scene of the scrivener. We will use this feature for reading different files in the time writing something. In adddition learning this feature you will also learn how to add files to the pages. Let’s see.

When you want to read other kind of stuff such as pdf files in your already divided main scene of the scrivener program you have to know how import the materials into scrivener.

At the above picture, I take your attention four important point. Arrow 1 shows the frame which is including the example pdf file. At the previous tutorial I explained how to divide the main scene of the scrivener. If you dont know dividing you had better check the tutorial here. The arrow number 2 is pointing out the are where we can arrange the pdf file such as zoom making. The arrow number 3 is indicating the “Research” area of the binder. You can add the file you want by dragging from anywhere to under the Resarch area. Besides this you can also use this menu.

First I am going to Resarch file and making a right click on it, second say add than choose file option in the newly opened window. You can choose anything even image. Howver all the stuff that you added into binder panel under the Resarch file as sub files will have no relation with the pages which are located above Resarch file.

The arrow number 1 shows a picture file, the number 3 arrow shows a pdf file and the finally the arrow number 2 shows a Ms word file. Ms word file can be moved to upstairs and related with the desired page. But the other files I mean pdf and images file can not be connect with others or move to up in binder. However there is a trick so we can add what we want to other pages in binder. But this is the subject of next tutorial. Hope to be useful.
